One of Becky’s gifts she received for Christmas was a wooden chest. She’s always wanted a cedar chest, so she was pretty excited to get this one from her dad. He wanted to see a picture of it when we got it put together (our little ugly Prius couldn’t haul it if it was already assembled), so I decided to set up the video camera and record a time-lapse of the assembly. It turned out pretty cool I thought..hope you enjoy.
I recently bought a new HD camcorder, and one of the built-in features is a time-lapse function. I was home during a small storm the other day, and decided to try out the feature. Here’s a video…
I’ve said since the day we bought it that our 2005 Toyota Prius was the ugliest car ever made. But looks have become less important to me as gas prices have gone up. With my yearly average around 45 MPG, the looks don’t bother me too much.
A few days ago, it reached 100,000 miles. The best I can tell, it still runs like it was brand new. It runs at least as good as it did when we bought it, at which point it had just under 60,000 miles on it.
Anyway, I made a corny video documenting the milestone. Sorry it’s shaky – we were driving obviously. And no, I wasn’t videoing while driving. Becky ran the camera while I drove.
As always, we try to record our Christmas Program on video. This year was no exception. But, I haven’t had the time to put it together and make a DVD out of it, so I took a few minutes to create this teaser trailer in iMovie. Hope you enjoy!
For a youth revival we just concluded last night, we had a contest among the youth to see who could bring the most visitors. The reward? Yes, you guessed it – the winner gets to throw a pie in my face. Bro. Jonathan Davis got in on it too.
At some point in the morning, unless it’s pouring down the rain, we have this little visitor. At first, it was annoying. Now it’s actually a little funny.
Just this year in our great state of Tennessee, lawmakers passed a law making it illegal to text while driving. It’s really an unenforceable law, but I’m not going to get into all of that. It’s a common sense thing in the first place – if your attention is on your phone (this can include talking on the phone as well – I avoid it as much as possible while driving), you’re not nearly as focused as you need to be on your driving.
A coworker just showed me this video a few minutes ago. Before you click play, let me warn you that if you don’t like blood, you won’t want to see it. It’s not real, but it is graphic. It is a public service announcement put out in England about the risks taken when you take your attention off the road.
–update
Looks like the video was removed because it violated some part of YouTube’s terms of service. I’m not going to keep posting updated videos, but if you’d like, you can search for ‘texting while driving’ and it’ll turn up for you to see.
A while back, I saw this thing on YouTube where they wanted to put together a music video from all over the world. They called it the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, or YTSO. I considered trying to play a piece for it, but didn’t put all that much thought into it, and eventually forgot about it.
I ran across it again today, and they’ve just posted a mashup video of all of the entries that makes up the entire song. Pretty impressive! I sort of wish I’d tried out for it now…Take a look!
I ran across this video today and had to share it. If you’re a big Star Wars fan you’ll love it. Even if you’re not a Star Wars fan you’ll love it. I watched the first Star Wars episode when they were all redone, but never really got into it. This video, however is awesome.
